Infographic Series - Ice Cream cone

Here is a fun way to cream a soft-serve ice cream in a waffle cone. Simple and fun, enjoy!

Start with a straight line, make it 10 pts in width.

From the Effects menu, choose Distort & Transform>Zig Zag.
Click the Preview button, set the Points to Smooth, size to 12 (set at absolute) and 7 ridges.

Then take the zig zag line and Expand the Appearance under the Object Menu.

Using the Width Shape Tool, pull the bottom point out to create a swirly ice cream effect.

Expand the Appearance again by going under the Object Menu.

To make the cone, draw a square and fill it with a medium brown.

Click on the Draw Inside button on the bottom of the tool bar. This will give a dashed line around the square and anything you draw will be inside or "clipped"

Draw a darker square "inside" the lighter square. Then click back on the normal drawing mode at the bottom of the tool bar.

Duplicate the square several times, keeping the edges touching.

Then duplicate the vertical squares side by side. Then group them all together.

Take the group and choose from the Effect menu>Distort & Transform>Free Distort. Then slide the bottom edges in in the dialog box.

Add a line above the cone, round the ends then fill it with ice cream!
