2/11/2019

Create a paper airplane and send it with love. If you have never made a heart this way, it is super cool and easy as well.
Picture

Picture
To start the airplane, used the Polygon Tool to make a triangle.
Picture
Pull the tip of the triangle taller. Copy the shape.
Picture
Paste the shape, make it smaller and lighter color. Flip it upside down and center it at the bottom edge of the first triangle

Picture
Select both shapes and rotate them 75°, then reduce the height vertically by pulling the pull handles of the bounding box to squish the shape, giving it the perspective.
Picture
Use the Direct Selection Tool to select the tip of the small triangle and move it pointing down.
Picture
Paste the small triangle again.

Picture
Move it into position using the Direct Selection Tool so that the point matches the point of the body and the base points match the small bottom triangle points. Select both light red triangles and choose the Pathfinder Mode Unite to make them one shape.
Picture
Draw a rectangle with a lighter color. Send the shape to the back. Objet>Arrange>
Send to Back
Picture
Use the Direct Selection Tool to move the sides so they parallel the inner fold lines.

Picture
Draw a rectangle with a darker color and CUT the shape.
Picture
Click on the red triangle in the center, click on the Draw Inside Mode at the bottom go the tool bar. Paste the rectangle. Use the Direct Selection Tool to move the sides so they parallel the inner fold lines. Click on the Draw Normal mode when done.
Picture
For the heart, draw a square. .

Picture
Using the Curvature Tool, click on the top center line of the square and move it up to form a lump.
Picture
Repeat this on the side of the square matching the lump on the top.
Picture
Rotate the heart 45° to make it vertical.

Picture
Select the heart and remove the fill and add a stroke. In the stroke panel, set the stroke to a dashed line.
Picture
Apply the dashed line to the heart.
Picture
To draw the path, double click on the Pencil tool in the Tool Bar to open the preferences. The set the Fidelity to Smooth.

Picture
This will create a smooth line when you draw the path with the pencil.Add the same dashed stroke to the path.
Picture
Move the heart into position above the path. Using the Curvature Tool, click near the tip of the heart on the left and right path to create points. Select the bottom tip point with the Direct Selection Tool and remove the point which will remove the two line segments to the left and right up to the points you just created.
Picture
Repeat the process on the path just below the heart as well, removing a section of the path. With the Direct Selection tool, select the open end of the path shown and join them . Object>Path <Join or Command +J.

Picture
Repeat the select and join process on the other open line ends as shown to join the paths.
Picture
This is the result of the line join crossing over each other forming a loopy path.
Picture
Place the line in position with the paper air place and send it with love.
