INFOGRAPHIC SERIES - Valentines Day Heart

If you have tried to make a heart in Illustrator, this is most likely the easiest one you have ever created. 8 simple steps for a perfect heart.

Select the Rectangle Tool and click on your art board. This will open the Rectangle dialog box. Set the width 50% wider than the height. 

Fill the rectangle with red. Use the Direct Selection Tool to select one end of the rectangle to active the corner widgets. 

Pull the corner widgets into the center to round the end.

Rotate the rectangle 45°.

Duplicate the rectangle then rotate the new rectangle 90°.

Move the 2 rectangles over so they line up at the bottom point. 

Select both rectangles and use the Pathfinder to Unite the shapes together.

To add an Inner Glow to the heart, select the heart and apply the Inner Glow Effect from the Effect Menu>Stylize>Inner Glow. Done!
